Patriots place rookie Gabe Jacas on NFI, receiver on injured reserve

Patriots rookie outside linebacker Gabe Jacas will begin his NFL career on the active/non-football injury list.

Jacas officially signed his rookie contract Sunday and was placed on active/NFI. The 2026 second-round pick can be activated off of NFI at any time.

Jacas reportedly had a procedure on his knee this offseason. He was the final pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to sign his rookie deal.

The Patriots also placed wide receiver Jeremiah Webb on injured reserve, opening up a spot on the 90-man roster.

Jacas joins running back Terrell Jennings and safety Brenden Schooler on NFI. The Patriots also have outside linebacker Harold Landry III and tight end CJ Dippre on the physically unable to perform list. All four players can be activated at any time.

Webb joins wide receiver Jimmy Kibble and tight end Julian Hill on IR.
