The main threat will be strong damaging wind gusts in excess of 60mph. We could also see pockets of hail and heavy rainfall. The risk of a tornado is low in our area, but not zero. Have a way of getting weather alerts.

Rest Of The Week
Temperatures return to the mid 80s with a good amount of sunshine. We should see some nice quiet weather to end the work week. We bring back a chance of storms by the weekend.
Quiet weather returns Wednesday through Friday.(WDBJ7)
***Drought Monitor Thursday 7/23 Update***(Slight Improvement!)
The drought monitor continues to reflect our extremely dry pattern. Severe & extreme drought cover majority of our area, however we have seen improvement over the past few weeks. Moderate & Abnormally dry drought continues to expand further from West Virginia into our region. The extreme drought in portions of our southside area continues to shrink! Many of us are still in severe and extreme drought, we still need more rain!
Some slight improvement in the drought was seen this week!(WDBJ7)
