According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the series began this week in New York, with a crew spotted filming on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Coben published his first Myron Bolitar novel, Deal Breaker in 1995. The series follows the agent as he goes the extra mile for his clients, often helping them in personal situations which see him having to take on a detective role.

The author confirmed to THR that the first season of the show will be primarily based on the second book in the series, Drop Shot, with Coben adding: “It’s going in other directions as well,” he said, “but the mystery is from Drop Shot

Speaking about the series, Coben said it had been “really heady and really interesting” to see the show come together.”

“The other series that I’ve done are all designed to be limited series — and I don’t want season twos out of them, even if sometimes we think about them,” he added.

“My rule on that is that unless we can come up with a better story, I don’t see a season two. With I Will Find You, what, would we have another kid go missing? … The Myron Bolitar series is created, like the books themselves, that we can run more than one season if we’re so blessed.

The Myron Bolitar series will also star Riverdale‘s KJ Apa as Win Lockwood, Myron’s best friend who is described as “unflappable, endlessly resourceful, and fiercely loyal, he’s the one Myron turns to when clients find themselves in trouble.”

Orange Is The New Black‘s Diane Guerrero will portray Esperanza Diaz, a former wrestler who works at MB Sports.

Ally McBeal and Big Little Lies creator David E Kelley will serve as the series’ showrunner, executive producer and writer alongside Kyle Long.

Myron Bolitar is set to air on Netflix.
