He’s not quite The Marlboro Man, but the guy living in a billboard on Sunset Boulevard should still garner some attention.
A man began living inside a furnished billboard above Sunset Boulevard today as part of a promotional campaign for Netflix‘s upcoming film The Last House, which releases tomorrow on streaming.
The installation, at Sunset and Selma Avenue, features kind of a large, bay window built into a billboard that has with a furnished living room inside. It stands about 30 feet off the ground.
Through Saturday, the performer will interact with commuters and passersby using a whiteboard while remaining inside the enclosed space.
A video posted by Netflix showed the man dressed in a bath robe and eating what looked like cereal. The man was also seen using binoculars to take in the sights overlooking the Sunset Strip.
According to Netflix, the installation is intended to recreate the premise of The Last House, in which a family of four becomes trapped inside its home with no way to escape while struggling to survive as food and other resources dwindle and a mysterious threat keeps them confined.
The film stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura and was directed by Louis Leterrier.
The billboard installation follows the reopening of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood after repairs to a major water main break near Holloway Drive.
