Cat found near wildfire

BCSPCA Kelowna said the cat was found near the Bradley Creek Wildfire zone and is now receiving medical care.
A cat singed in the Bradley Creek Wildfire is receiving medical care, and Kelowna BCSPCA workers are asking if anyone knows where she belongs.
In a post to its social media accounts, the Kelowna BCSPCA said the cat was found as a stray along Mary’s Emerald Bay Road, which is along the fire zone, in Vernon.
“She has been burnt from the fire but is being taken care of at a local vet clinics. She is female, hard to tell age but looks to be between one to three years old.”
There was no tattoo or microchip found on the feline, which will make tracking her down more difficult.
The Bradley Creek wildfire is now mapped at 2,853 hectares and is believed to have destroyed 230 properties.
Dense smoke blanketing the Okanagan helped keep the wildfire from worsening throughout Thursday, according to BC Wildfire Service information officer Morgan Blois.
But conditions could change in the days ahead, forecasts indicate.
