Paul Scholes has spilled the beans on a Man United legend’s secret interview to become the next Rangers manager.
Gers chiefs have met with various candidates over the Ibrox vacancy as they look for the right man to replace sacked Russell Martin.
Title-winning boss Steven Gerrard was the hot favourite for the role before sensationally pulling out of the running at the weekend.
German coach Danny Rohl has since emerged as the latest frontrunner, with Shanghai Port gaffer Kevin Muscat also in the frame.
But appearing on the Good Bad Football podcast, Scholes let slip a not-so-subtle hint that ex-Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been approached by Rangers.
He said: “I was actually with a lad the other night who told me he was actually going to meet Rangers.
“I’m not sure if he did but his name’s not been mentioned.
“I don’t think he was going for it. They contacted him and he was going to meet him in London the day after.”

Former teammate and podcast sidekick Nicky Butt’s eyes lit up as he said: “Oh, I know who you mean.”
Refusing to specifically name close pal Solskjaer, Paddy McGuinness asked if it was a current manager, to which Scholes replied: “No.”
Probed if the not-so-mysterious man had managed Man United, Scholes smirked: “No comment.
“But funnily enough, his name’s not been mentioned.”
When Butt teased “[It’s] Ole you are talking about, aren’t you?” a smirking Scholes added: “No. No comment.”
