Ted Ginn Jr. Named Columbus Aviators Head Coach

Former Ohio State All-American Ted Ginn Jr. is the first head coach of the Columbus Aviators.

“Being in a big state of football, being a Buckeye, being a Tarblooder, why not?” said Ginn Jr. “Why not take this opportunity?”

Ted Ginn Jr. has been around coaching his entire life. His father, Ted Sr., is a legendary high school football coach at Glenville in Cleveland.

One of the main reasons Ginn Jr. took this job was to help undrafted Ohio State players make it to the NFL.

“I’m always going to represent my school, the Buckeyes,” said Ginn Jr. “To give another opportunity to those kids who are trying to get to the Bengals and Browns. You can always just stay home and have another opportunity to be somebody in your own city.”

Ted Ginn Jr. played at Ohio State under former head coach Jim Tressel, who is the current Lt. Governor in the state of Ohio.

“Teddy will be a great influence on the young men and he will represent the Buckeye State and the UFL with class,” said Tressel. “Teddy is so excited to bring a great product to Central Ohio and make a difference in the community and on the game of football.”
