Origin of DEADLINE

In 2023, BLACKPINK renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment, with plans for a new album and world tour. Details have been limited, with group members dropping hints in various interviews, before publicly confirming the comeback and announcing their upcoming extended play in the Instagram post above.

‘Deadline’ was preceded by ‘Jump’, which will feature as the EP’s lead single. The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and peaked at No. 28 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Prior to ‘DEADLINE’, BLACKPINK also launched the Deadline World Tour in the summer of 2025.
