Saturday Night’s Main Event results: Drew McIntyre ruins Oba Femi vs. Cody Rhodes

John Cena got his wish and the up-and-coming stars of tomorrow, the top crop from NXT, were featured at tonight’s (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C. WWE opened the show with one of its most promising young stars, current NXT Champion Oba Femi, squaring up with arguably the top babyface in all of pro wrestling for the past few years, current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
This was a massive opportunity for Femi to show he belongs under the bright lights.
Fans were instantly welcoming to him, chanting for him at the start and then throughout the match. Femi hasn’t necessarily been booked as an invulnerable monster in NXT but he’s been dominant far more often than not. You couldn’t reasonably expect the same here — it’s the WWE champion, after all — but he was in control for long stretches.
The near falls had the crowd ready to explode at a surprise result.
And then, the result that shouldn’t have been a surprise happened — a no contest (I think, they didn’t actually announce a result) because Drew McIntyre ran in and attacked Rhodes. Femi wasn’t happy about it, dragging McIntyre off and then planting him on his ass.
When he was vanquished, the two stars grabbed their titles and raised each other’s arms. That was that. They accomplished what they set out to, and Femi proved he absolutely belongs right there with the top stars in the industry.
