Thousands without power across Southern Tier as clipper system brings strong winds, rain

SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WBNG) — Thousands of customers are without power in the Southern Tier as a strong system moved through the area Friday morning, heavily impacting the morning commute.

After heavy winds in the area, power is reportedly out for customers in the following counties as of noon on Friday, Dec. 19:

  • Chenango: 262
  • Broome: 4
  • Delaware: 587
  • Tompkins: 294
  • Otsego: 246

These outages are widespread across numerous municipalities in the area.

Repairs are in progress in some areas, while no updates have been given on others.
