Patrick Bamford has signed an 18-month contract for Sheffield United after impressing since arriving on a short-term agreement in November.
Bamford, who was released by Leeds in August, has found the target five times in 10 appearances for the Blades, helping them move clear of the Championship relegation zone.
The 32-year-old’s deal had been due to expire after Sunday’s FA Cup tie against Mansfield Town.
In a club statement, Sheffield United detail how there are “opportunities” within the contract for Bamford to extend it beyond 2027.
“I made no secret of my desire to get in a ‘number nine’ and Patrick has fitted the bill seamlessly since he came in – I’m delighted that everyone sees that this is a perfect fit,” manager Chris Wilder told the club website., external
