Dax Shepard Fixes Kristen Bell’s Hair During Joint Red Carpet Outing

Dax Shepard made sure his wife, Kristen Bell, looked picture-perfect while posing for photos on the red carpet.

Shepard, 51, joined Bell 43, at Vanity Fair and Amazon MGM’s awards season celebration in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 10, where they were all smiles in his-and-hers coordinating black suits.

As Bell posed solo on the red carpet, Shepard quickly fixed any flyaways and smoothed out her signature blonde locks before she began smiling for the photographers. Bell appeared to give her husband a nod of gratitude for his efforts.

The Vanity Fair and Amazon MGM bash was held one day before the 2026 Golden Globes, where Bell and Shepard both earned nominations. While Bell is up for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series — Musical or Comedy for her role as Joanne in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” was recognized in the new Best Podcast category.

Bell and Shepard have been married since 2013, celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary late last year.

“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would,’” Bell wrote via Instagram in October 2025, alongside a photo of Shepard.

The social media message raised eyebrows about whether Bell’s message was romantic or problematic, sparking a flurry of mixed reactions.

“Screenshotted,” the official account for crime show Dateline even replied in the comments section.

Certain fans were upset that Bell’s tribute was posted during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“There’s nothing funny about domestic violence ‘jokes’ that trivialize the very real fear, trauma and pain that millions of victims and survivors face each day,” a rep for the National Network to End Domestic Violence said in a statement that month. “Especially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we all have a responsibility to support victims and survivors, to invest in proven solutions and to speak about this issue with the seriousness it deserves.”

Neither Bell nor Shepard further addressed the online controversy, but have often been candid about why their longtime relationship has endured over the years.

She continued, “It just meant we did have to have a lot of patience for each other to figure out what the compromises would be, and a general understanding that we’re probably going to have different viewpoints on almost everything — and figure out a respectful way to have those discussions.”

Bell and Shepard also share daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.

“They do talk back and they are not respectful,” Shepard recalled of his kids on a November 2025 episode of his podcast. “I can understand where that seems completely unruly, but I want you to know what I’m prioritizing, which is when they’re 19 and their boss is a f***ing creep, I want them to talk back. I want them to be disrespectful. I want them to always advocate for themselves, whether I think they’re right or wrong.”
