Strong Winds Expected Sunday Across Wiregrass Region

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The National Weather Service is warning of strong, gusty winds expected across parts of the Wiregrass and surrounding areas on Sunday.
Forecasters say south winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph. The advisory covers portions of southeast Ala., the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend, along with southwest Georgia.
The strongest winds are expected from late morning through the afternoon, beginning around 11 a.m. CST and lasting until about 5 p.m. CST.
Officials warn that unsecured outdoor objects could be blown around. Tree limbs may come down, and isolated power outages are possible during the peak wind period.
Residents are encouraged to secure loose items and use caution if traveling during windy conditions.
