Grammys 2026 LIVE updates: Kendrick Lamar posts record-breaking win as host Trevor Noah gives celebs a light roast
Melbourne’s own Rosé and Bruno Mars, in rock-star mode, open the show with a particularly Blues Brothers-ish take on their smash APT (I guess Bruno is the Belushi?). At least Billie Eilish is bouncing around in the front row.

Comedian Trevor Noah, somehow back to host his sixth consecutive (and, he promises, final) Grammys, gets the ceremony going with a gag comparing APT, the Korean drinking game, with its US equivalent. “Every time we turn on the news, we take a drink,” he jokes.
He takes a walk through the audience, shouting out stars including Pharrell and Tyler, The Creator. “I feel like I’m at Jeff Bezos’ wedding, but with way more black people,” he says.
Justin Bieber, at his first Grammys since 2022, looks nervous when Noah heads his way. But he keeps the jokes mild, congratulating Bieber and partner Hailey on their child and requesting a discount voucher for her make-up line Rhode.
His monologue is political-lite. He shouts out Olivia Dean for fighting Ticketmaster’s ticket prizes, and calls Doechii’s Anxiety the US’ new national anthem.
He even gets an applause when he announces that Nicki Minaj, who’s been recently red-pilled, isn’t at the show. “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump,” he says, doing an impression of them comparing their arse sizes. I feel Trump would love that one.
