Team Canada and Team USA to find out their next opponents
Team Canada will face the winners of Czechia and Denmark in the quarter-finals.
The Czechs lost 5-0 to Canada in their Group A opener, but responded to beat France, before losing to Switzerland in overtime to finish third.
Denmark also came third in Group C, registering a win over Latvia, but losing to Germany and the U.S.
Sweden or Latvia await Team USA in the last eight.
Two-time Olympic champions Sweden surprisingly finished third in Group B despite beating group winners Slovakia and hosts Italy.
Latvia were bottom of Group C, but enjoyed a 4-3 win over Germany.
Slovakia’s next opponents will be Germany or France.
The Germans came second in Group C and are the favourites to beat France, who lost all three of their Group A games, conceding 10 against Canada.
Italy meet Switzerland for the right to play Finland in the quarters.
The host nation have their work cut out having failed to win a match so far, including a 11-0 thrashing by the Finns.
Switzerland were ranked fifth after the group stage, after beating France and Switzerland in overtime.
