Kate Hudson, Gwendoline Christie, Lily Allen Attend Chanel and Charles Finch’s 2026 Pre-BAFTA Party

LONDON — Hollywood’s heavy hitters braved the rain and packed into the annual pre-BAFTA party co-hosted by Charles Finch and Chanel at 5 Hertford Street.

Rose Byrne, who’s up for leading actress for her role in “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” arrived seconds after Gwendoline Christie and Lily Allen.

Allen, wearing look 62 from the Chanel spring 2026 show, chatted to the actress Odessa A’zion, who’s nominated at the BAFTAs for their work on the film “Marty Supreme” as they posed for a picture together.

Kate Hudson, in the running for leading actress for “Song Sung Blue,” posed for a photo on the staircase landing, wearing a black and white dress. “Sinners” director Ryan Coogler also opted for black and white, wearing a dapper tuxedo.

Upstairs was Minnie Driver, who’s presenting an award at the BAFTAs. “I’m happy to be here, to take the nerves off,” she laughed.

Driver added that she was excited about her custom Emilia Wickstead look, adding that her jewelry was, “the most fabulous jewels I’ve ever seen.”

Felicity Jones, fresh from starring in “Train Dreams,” which is nominated for best cinematography, was across the room. Jones teased that she’s already working on her next project.

“It’s a film called ‘Eleven Missing Days,’ and I’m playing Agatha Christie, who I’m a huge fan of,” she enthused. “I’m a total Agatha Christie geek.”

Nia Dacosta, who directed “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,” the sequel to “28 Years Later,” which is in the running for outstanding British film, said she’s missing this year’s BAFTAs – but for good reason.

“I’m going to be at the Olympics, but if I’m going to miss the BAFTAs, I feel like that’s a pretty good excuse,” she said, adding that she’s going to see the men’s hockey final.

The star-studded turnout makes sense, considering Finch, a fashion and film veteran, is a bit of a legend in the entertainment business. The party came at the perfect time for him, considering the editor in chief of film and culture magazine “A Rabbit’s Foot” has a lot of exciting upcoming projects to celebrate.

“Issue 14 of ‘A Rabbit’s Foot’ hits the stands soon – we just finished it two nights ago. It’s a really interesting study of independent California,” he said. “You’ll have to see who’s on the cover.”

Finch also has a movie, titled “Custom of the Country” adapted from the Edith Wharton book, premiering next week. It stars Sydney Sweeney and is written and directed by Josie Rourke. His bar, named Bar Finch, is set to open in a month.
