Jack Hughes, Megan Keller get candid about gold medal meetup

It looks like the United States men’s and women’s hockey teams have made up.
Team USA stars Jack Hughes and Megan Keller joined “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday to talk about their experiences at the 2026 Olympics in Milan.
McAfee first asked Hughes about Keller, and the Devils forward said that after Keller’s game-winner in the women’s gold medal game against Canada, he hugged the star defender in the cafeteria.
Days later, after Hughes did the same for the men’s squad with his overtime goal, he and Keller took a picture together.
“I just gave her a massive hug, and I said, ‘I’m so happy for you,’” Hughes said. “You wouldn’t believe me and Quinn (Hughes’) reaction, we were so pumped for you.”
Keller appeared on the show later on, and McAfee jokingly asked her if the women “hated the men’s team,” following recent events in which some of the players were seen laughing about a joke from President Donald Trump about the women’s national team. Keller shot down any such allegations and confirmed Hughes’ cafeteria story.
She added that both teams hung out in the Olympic cafeteria for hours on end after the men’s victory.

“No, we don’t hate the men’s team,” Keller said. “After they won, all of us sat in the caf until 4 a.m. until our buses were leaving, chopping it up, with our medals hanging out.”
“You can’t write that up any better. We were teams of destiny,” she added.
Keller’s heroics came with the U.S. and Canada tied 1-1 after Hilary Knight tied the game in the final minutes of regulation. With a nifty move to give herself a clean look at goal, Keller slotted home the game-winner, giving Team USA the gold medal.

On the men’s side, the sequence of events was opposite, but Hughes ensured the Americans got the same result. The U.S. scored first, Canada tied it in the second period and Hughes won the game just 1:41 into overtime.
With Hughes’ and Keller’s remarks, the two teams seem to be on good terms.
