Patriots steal Bills free agent for $12 million contract

Reggie Gilliam may not be a household name.
But if you’ve watched the Buffalo Bills in recent years, you’ve seen him. On almost every Josh Allen tush push, Gilliam, wearing No. 41, has been the pusher.
That won’t be the case for the Bills anymore.
Gilliam has signed a $12 million three-year contract to join AFC East rivals New England, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
It’s a cool add for the Patriots, and a painful one for the Bills.
Gilliam has played all six of his NFL seasons for Buffalo, and Josh Allen seemed to appreciate him, but the Bills couldn’t find the money for him.

He’s a reliable player beyond just his pushing. He helped open ample gaps in the defense for RB James Cook the last few seasons.
Gilliam is also equipped with solid hands for the rare pass that comes his way.
He measures at 6 feet and 244 pounds.
This signing is as notable for what it says about the division as anything else.
It made Stefon Diggs to go to the Pats and potentially seek some revenge after his rough ending with the Bills.
There’s not believed to have been a similar conflict with Gilliam in Buffalo. And he still chose to join New England.
The Patriots were just in the Super Bowl. Now they’ve added a player from their biggest AFC East foe.
