Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio, also known as “El Patrón,” has reportedly been detained in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on suspicion of alleged family violence, according to a report from Mexican outlet La Razón. Several other Mexican media outlets are also reporting the story.
According to La Razón, Del Rio was detained in the Lomas del Tec neighborhood in the capital of San Luis Potosí. The report states that the wrestler was reportedly accused of an alleged assault against his wife, and that his wife was the one who reportedly contacted authorities by calling 911.
Per the report, members of the State Civil Guard arrived at the scene and detained the former WWE star. La Razón reports that the case is currently under investigation by authorities.
Del Rio, whose real name is José Alberto Rodríguez, is a former WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion. He has wrestled for WWE, AAA, and other promotions throughout his career.
