The production has already had preview nights in NYC since the beginning of March, but April 9 marks its opening night.

The college graduate is starring alongside stars including Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf. The log-line for the play, written by Arthur Miller, reads: “One man and his family are caught up in the pressures and delusions of living the American Dream. Miller’s play is the story of a traveling salesman whose illusions of picture-perfect business and family life cave in on him.”
The drama was written in 1949 and opened on Broadway that same year, instantly becoming a hit, winning a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Play. It has since been revived five times on the Broadway stage.

Joaquin – who graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in theater studies – told the college’s publication, University of Michigan Athletics, back in 2025 that he had started attending more auditions and even went to one on behalf of his brother. “I should actually look into doing this. That was the light bulb moment,” he explained.
In February 2025, Joaquin also starred in his college’s production of A Few Good Men at the Power Center in Ann Arbor. The show was attended by his proud parents and older siblings, Michael and Lola. Since graduating, he has been represented by CAA & Untitled.

Joaquin isn’t the only member of the family taking to the stage either – as his dad, Mark Consuelos, also recently returned to Broadway with a supporting turn in the revival of Fallen Angels.
The opening night for Fallen Angels is April 19. Mark recently opened up about Fallen Angels being a good distraction for him following the sad news of his father, Saul Consuelos’ death.

“I knew I had to keep on going. I’ve had such a good time doing [the play]. And I know he’s there watching and he’s able to be part of that,” he told the audience on Live.
The Fallen Angels logline reads: “Two upper-class wives, their husbands away for the day, share a few toasts to their pre-marital dalliances – with the same man, who just may be en route from France to visit. Old rivalries and past scandals bubble to the surface in this intoxicating romp from one of theatre’s comedy masters.”
