Rory McIlroy skips RBC Heritage but top golfers are in signature event

Rory McIlroy is skipping the RBC Heritage yet again.

But the 82-man field for the signature event at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is otherwise loaded with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, the 2024 champ, defending champion, Justin Thomas, and reigning FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood.

Wyndham Clark, Tony Finau, Billy Horschel and Marco Penge have received sponsor exemptions into the fourth of eight signature events while Jordan Spieth and Max Homa are in via their spot on the current season FedEx Cup point list. Johnny Keefer, the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year, and Korn Ferry Tour Championship winner Chandler Blanchet are in through the Aon Swing 5.

McIlroy has played the RBC Heritage only twice – in 2020 and 2024. Hideki Matsuyama and Adam Scott also elected not to play at Harbour Town.

Here’s a list of the 72-man field and the alternates list.
