Powys rivals Newtown and Caersws set for cup final showdown

Nathan Leonard, manager of Newtown, said: “Everyone at the club is excited for the game and it should be a great occasion.

“It’s important we finish the season on a high with some silverware, the supporters deserve it as much as anyone.

“We will be doing our best to win the game for the late Phil Williams who will be sorely missed, our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.”

Leonard said the match will come down to “individual battles” and believes his side will be up for the challenge.

Caersws manager Lee Stephens said: “It will be a great game to end the season.

“After the Penrhyncoch and Guilsfield games the players have bounced back with a couple of strong performances.”

Monday sees the Banwy Fuels Montgomeryshire Cup final take centre stage when Llanrhaeadr take on Waterloo Rovers in Llansantffraid.
