Man Arrested on Fentanyl Trafficking Charges After I-65 Traffic Stop in Cullman County

A Cullman County Sheriff’s Office traffic stop along Interstate 65 led to the arrest of a Falkville man on multiple drug charges.
The sheriff’s office said deputies conducted a traffic stop Tuesday, May 12 near Exit 299 on I-65 after observing a traffic violation. During the stop, deputies identified the driver as John Kristopher Wayne Monfort.
Investigators said deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle, which resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, Suboxone strips and drug paraphernalia.

Monfort was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
