Ben Ahlers, Adrien Brody, Ayo Edebiri, Alden Ehrenreich, More Are 2026 Theatre World Award Winners

Recipients of the 80th Annual Theatre World Awards, honoring outstanding
debut performances in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production, were announced May 7. The honorees will be
celebrated June 2 at 2 PM at a ceremony at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre.
Theatre journalist Peter Filichia will again host the ceremony,
produced by Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors and President
Dale Badway with Executive Producer Karen Johnston.
The 2026 Theatre World Award Honorees include Ben Ahlers, Death of a Salesman; LJ Benet, The Lost Boys; Madeline Brewer, Becky Shaw; Adrien Brody, The Fear of 13; Ayo Edebiri, Proof; Alden Ehrenreich, Becky Shaw; Luke Evans, The Rocky Horror Show; Will Harrison, Punch; River Lipe-Smith, Caroline; Lesley Manville, Oedipus; Robert “Silk” Mason, Cats: The Jellicle Ball; and Sam Tutty, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).
The evening will also include the presentations of the 17th Annual Dorothy
Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater, honoring an outstanding
performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production, to Rachael Stirling (Giant); and The John Willis Award, given for lifetime achievement in the theatre. The recipient of the latter will be announced shortly.
The Theatre World Award honorees are chosen by the Theatre World Awards Committee, which comprises Linda Armstrong (Amsterdam News), David Cote (The Observer), Joe Dziemianowicz (New York Daily News, emeritus), Peter Filichia (The Newark Star-Ledger, emeritus), David Finkle (New York Stage Review), Elysa Gardner (USA Today, emeritus), Cary Wong (freelance), and Frank Scheck (The Hollywood Reporter).
The Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors is headed by Badway with Vice-President Tom Lynch, Vice-President Michael Kostel, Secretary Stephen Wilde, Treasurer Rozanne Scarpelli, James Sheridan, Karen Johnston, Jeffrey Grove, and Arthur Makar.
