“He was like, ‘You’re affecting our lives here,’” Jordan said. “When you look at these four beautiful kids growing up, their whole lives have been here. … When you had that conversation, I was like, ‘All right, let me humble myself here and let’s get this done.’”
The end result led to Tuesday, with Jordan officially announcing his return to the Saints for what he declared would be his final year in the NFL.
The last part of Jordan’s declaration may take time to set in. Asked whether this would truly be his final season, the 36-year-old initially gave a long-winded answer that required the question to be repeated.

“I’m going to treat as if it’s (my) final season with intention,” Jordan said.
