Love Island USA Is Letting You Program Movie Night

Let the “KC and Sincere red-pill most problematic moments” compilation begin. Love Island USA is letting the fans pick what gets shown on Movie Night this season. For newbies, Movie Night is when islanders get to see clips of the show they are on, learning what their partners get up to when they’re not around and also a hint of the edit they’re getting for the rest of the world. Season seven didn’t have a Movie Night, something diehards were really clamoring for. On Aftersun, Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa let us know they’d gotten our letters. “We have heard the people,” Pessoa said. “Movie night is so delicious and delectable and back by popular demand.”
Miller added that not only was Movie Night back, but us lowly fans are its curators. “You’re going to go to @LoveislandUSA on Instagram, and you are going to comment and tell us which clips need to be included for Movie Night.” On Love Island’s IG Stories, there’s currently a Question Sticker asking fan input on what clips will get shown. Is this a perfect system? No, it lacks the transparency of a true vote. We’re putting notes in a suggestions box, and there’s no real way to know whether management actually reads them, or if they’re using this as a way to simulate a dialogue. But it also means we all have a lot of leeway on what to suggest. Technically, we can ask Love Island to show clips of the two Tubi Originals Bryce and Trinity have bit parts in. Could be fun. There’s still eight more hours to submit your selects for Movie Night.
