Coronation Street and Emmerdale caught in schedule shake-up this week as ITV shifts soaps from usual slots
Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been pulled from ITV’s schedule tonight (Monday 29 July).
Both shows usually air 30-minute instalments on weeknights, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm and Corrie following at 8:30pm.
But neither soap will be airing in their usual slot tonight, with ITV1 showing coverage of the Brazil v Japan FIFA World Cup 2026 game instead.
Coverage of the match will begin at 5:15pm and run until 8:35pm
However, fans looking for their soap fix needn’t worry, as Emmerdale will return on Tuesday at 7:15pm for a 30-minute episode.
There’ll also be a 30 minute-long episode of Corrie on the channel on Tuesday, starting at 8:15pm.

The schedule shake-up comes after it was revealed who killed villain Theo Silverton on Corrie.
The murder mystery storyline had been unfolding for weeks after Theo’s body was discovered on the day of Carla and Lisa’s wedding.

But last week, a series of flashbacks pieced together exactly what went down on the night of the villain’s death.
This week on Corrie, Megan attempts to play dirty ahead of her trial, while Sarah confronts Jodie over her suspicions about the night of her attack, and Summer’s behaviour draws concern from her friends.
Meanwhile on Emmerdale, Charity reports Dr Todd’s blackmail crime to the police, newcomer Serena causes a scene in the village, and Nicola isn’t best pleased to see Kev back in the village, among other developments.

Emmerdale usually airs weeknights at 8pm and Coronation Street usually airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1. Both can be streamed from 7am that day on ITVX.
