Zach Johnson is once again a winner on the PGA Tour Champions after triumphing at the inaugural Portugal Invitational.
Johnson finished on 19-under at The Els Club in Vilamoura, securing a two-shot win over fellow American Stewart Cink.
He now boasts four titles on the PGA Tour Champions, having also won the Kaulig Companies Championship, the Principal Charity Classic and the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational.
And Johnson has now shared his verdict on the tour following his latest success, which was the first officially sanctioned PGA Tour Champions event to be staged in Portugal.

Zach Johnson not surprised by PGA Tour Champions level
When asked if he is surprised at the level of the players having already claimed four wins, Johnson said: “Yeah. I’ll say if you take… obviously I played nice, I played well.
“I started seeing some things at the end of last year that I was really encouraged with in my game and it just never really surfaced on the PGA Tour.
“So once I got out here, it actually started to manifest quicker for whatever reason. So I’ve played a couple Tour events this year.
“I just played John Deere a couple months ago and I had a top-10 finish on the PGA Tour. I had a chance there, I could have won that golf tournament.

“So I’ve been playing nice and that’s the bottom line. Stewart’s been playing great obviously.
“I’m not surprised by the level of competition because these guys, you’re talking about major champions through and through, Hall of Famers through and through.
“You’re talking about really competent players that continue to work at their game and continue to get better.
“I’ve always felt I’m a competitor first, golfer second if that makes sense, and there’s a lot of those out here.
“They want to win, they want to get better, and they’re great dudes. Man, just great guys. It’s an amazing tour.”

Johnson has been one of the standout players on the PGA Tour Champions in 2026, finishing in the top 10 in all 11 of his events so far.
The superb run from the 50-year-old arrives after a stellar career on the PGA Tour, during which he claimed 12 wins.
Johnson has made 530 starts overall, most notably winning The Masters in 2007 and The Open Championship in 2015.
He has featured four times on the PGA Tour in 2026, most recently finishing in a tie for ninth at the John Deere Classic after a missed cut at The Masters.
Johnson currently stands second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, and joins Cink as the only other four-time winner on the PGA Tour Champions in 2026.
The hugely impressive feat comes despite the 2023 USA Ryder Cup captain only making his debut in March this season.
His success also means he has become the first player with four wins in his rookie season since Padraig Harrington in 2022.
