Thanksgiving 2025: What’s open and closed on P.E.I.

A number of Island businesses and services will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, while others may be operating on reduced hours.

A number of Island businesses and services will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, while others may be operating on reduced hours.

Scroll below for partial list of what will be open and closed Monday. It’s a good idea to call ahead if you’re planning on going to a store, restaurant or service, especially if you don’t see it listed here.

Government offices and services

  • Federal and provincial government offices will be closed for the day, including Access P.E.I. locations.
  • All P.E.I. public libraries will be closed
  • Charlottetown City Hall, Summerside City Hall and Three Rivers Town Hall will be closed.
  • T3 Transit will not be operating.
  • Island Waste Management Corporation will have an alternate pickup day on Saturday, Oct. 18.
  • Tourism information centres in Borden-Carlton, Charlottetown and Wood Islands will be open.
  • Canada Post will not be operating.

Grocery and retail

  • Sobeys, Foodland, and Atlantic Superstore locations will be closed.
  • Co-op locations will be closed, with the exception of the Wellington location, which will close Sunday and open Monday, and the Souris location, which will open from 9 to 4 p.m. Monday.
  • Walmart, Dollarama and Giant Tiger locations will be closed.
  • P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission locations will be closed.
  • P.E.I. Cannabis locations will be closed.
  • Royalty Crossing Mall will be closed.
  • Confederation Court Mall will be closed.
  • County Fair Mall in Summerside will be closed, with the exception of the Lawtons Drugs store, which will have their exterior entrance open from noon to 5 p.m.
  • Good’s Independent Grocer will be closed.
  • Kensington Food Basket and Panda Mart will be open regular hours.
