The popular Future Stars promo is set to return again in EA FC 26, celebrating the youngsters who are expected to dominate the game for years to come. Here’s everything we know about the event, including the return of the Academy feature.
When is Future Stars?
There is currently no official start date for the Future Stars promo, although it’s expected to drop on Friday, January 30, 2026. This is based on Team of the Year, which has been running for a couple of weeks, ending on the same day, and Fridays are when new events kick off.

Based on previous years, it’s likely to be a two-week-long event, but this is yet to be confirmed.
What is Future Stars?
As the name suggests, Future Stars puts the spotlight on players with plenty of potential who are expected to dominate the sport going forward. These youngsters are awarded boosted cards that give us a glimpse of what their regular cards could look like in the years to come.

In the past, we’ve seen the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham appear in this promo, who went on to become some of the biggest names in the sport.

Most of these items will be available in packs, while others will be released as SBC or objective rewards.
Future Stars Academy leaked
Leaked ‘FUT Sheriff’ revealed that Future Stars Academy is also making a comeback this year, allowing players to earn their own powerful card.
When it begins, fans will be given the choice of a series of low-rated Future Stars cards and must pick one to add to their club. Then, these items can be placed into a special Evolution broken up into multiple stages.

As you complete challenges, such as scoring or assisting with that player in specific game modes, their rating, stats, and PlayStyles will gradually increase. By the end, if you managed to complete every objective, you’ll be left with a top-tier card to add to your team.
